Job Description
Orchard Park Family Practice, a large, dynamic Family Practice located in Orchard Park, NY, has a current job opportunity for a part-time Registered Nurse.
RN
Orchard Park Family Practice is seeking an RN with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience to perform nursing triage service for patients over the phone. The Nurse will also be responsible for completing an accurate assessment of a patient’s needs, be able to identify symptoms and determine emergencies.
Job duties include:
- Review of daily provider schedules
- Review patient-specific chart for forms, test results, etc
- Providing a safe patient care environment
- Triaging of messages in the EMR as requested
- Completing an accurate assessment of a patient’s needs, be able to identify symptoms and determine emergencies
- Requesting of laboratory, x-ray and discharge/consult reports when not in patient chart
- Supporting all initiatives of the health care team
- Promoting excellence in customer service
- Participation in performance improvement initiatives
- Actively participates in care teams
- Demonstrates understanding of HIPAA
- Assures patient confidentiality to include securing of patient PHI
- Adheres to the Policies and Procedures of the practice
- Must be able to communicate calmly, compassionately, and professionally with all different types of patients including the elderly, ailing, and handicapped
- Working as part of the care team
- Additional duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will have superb customer service skills, empathy, patience and the ability to reassure and calm concerned patients. We seek an individual who possesses a broad knowledge of medical terminology, exhibits excellent verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail as well as the ability to work within a team.
Must hold a current New York State RN License. Experience with Medent preferred.
