IT Specialist (Onsite)

Position Summary

Orchard Medical Management is seeking an experienced and hands-on IT Specialist to support all internal technology operations. As we transition away from our Managed Service Provider (MSP), this individual will become the primary technical resource for the organization, providing day-to-day IT support while maintaining our infrastructure, Microsoft 365 environment, cybersecurity, and technology vendors.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting technical issues, supporting end users, maintaining reliable systems, and improving IT operations. The IT Specialist will work closely with leadership and staff to ensure technology remains secure, dependable, and responsive to the organization's needs.

Key Responsibilities

IT Infrastructure & Systems Support

  • Assume responsibility for IT functions previously managed by the MSP.
  • Administer the Microsoft 365 environment, including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, and user licensing.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Support network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, wireless access points, VPN connectivity, and internet services.
  • Maintain server environments, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Assist with hardware procurement, inventory management, and equipment replacement planning.

End User Support

  • Provide Tier I, II, and III technical support for approximately 65 users.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, email, printing, and Microsoft 365 issues.
  • Set up technology for new hires and manage onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Maintain IT documentation and user procedures.
  • Deliver timely, professional customer service while resolving technical issues.

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Support endpoint protection, antivirus, email security, and ransomware prevention.
  • Ensure systems remain compliant with cybersecurity best practices and cyber insurance requirements.
  • Apply software updates, security patches, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Monitor backup systems and assist with disaster recovery planning.
  • Provide cybersecurity awareness training and guidance to employees.

Vendor & Technology Support

  • Serve as the primary contact for technology vendors and service providers.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors when specialized support is needed.
  • Recommend hardware and software improvements to leadership.
  • Assist with IT purchasing and technology planning.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in systems administration, IT support, or an MSP environment.
  • Strong experience supporting Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience administering user accounts and devices.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, firewalls, switches, VPNs, and wireless networking.
  • Experience supporting desktop hardware, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Knowledge of backup solutions, endpoint security, and disaster recovery.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous MSP experience.
  • Experience supporting healthcare organizations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune, Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), or Azure.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA security requirements.
  • PowerShell scripting experience is a plus.
