Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team of our 22 bed skilled nursing facility.
This is a hands-on leadership position in a fast paced, high turnover environment. The ideal candidate must be comfortable managing multiple priorities, supporting staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, and providing strong clinical leadership.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction for nursing staff, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.
- Oversee daily nursing operations, including admissions, discharges, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, Michigan state regulations, and standards of care.
- Manage survey preparations, respond to plans of correction, and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain regulatory compliance related to infection control, staffing ratios, and other healthcare standards.
- Develop and monitor policies and procedures to promote best practices in nursing care.
- Lead efforts in staff development, training, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated and competent team.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans effectively.
- Work closely with administrative and interdisciplinary team.
Experience
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) License is required.
- Minimum of one year of nursing management experience in a healthcare setting.
- Extensive knowledge of CMS regulations, Michigan state regulations, and standards of care.
- Proven experience with surveys, plans of correction, quality improvement initiatives, staffing management, regulatory compliance, and infection control protocols.
- Demonstrated strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment that involves managing admissions and discharges efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with the capability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Position Details
- Monday through Friday Schedule
- On-call responsibilities required with two other administrative nursing staff
