We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Dealership Service Advisor to join our automotive team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers bringing their vehicles in for service, ensuring a seamless and positive experience. Your expertise in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and dealership operations will help facilitate efficient vehicle repairs and maintenance. You will coordinate between customers and our skilled technicians, providing clear communication, accurate service writing, and upselling opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and dealership profitability. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and listen carefully to their vehicle concerns to accurately assess service needs
- Explain repair estimates, service procedures, and recommended maintenance options clearly and professionally
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, ensuring timely completion of services such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, alignments, suspension work, and transmission repairs
- Upsell additional services by identifying customer needs for auto diagnostics, auto estimating, and vehicle maintenance packages
- Manage service writing tasks efficiently while maintaining detailed records of work performed and parts used
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments securely
- Maintain a thorough understanding of automotive repair procedures including diesel engine repair, shocks & struts replacement, air brake systems, auto body repair, and other specialized services
- Promote excellent customer service by providing updates on vehicle status and addressing any concerns promptly
- Support the dealership’s sales efforts by assisting with automobile sales when appropriate and fostering long-term customer relationships
Experience
- Proven dealership experience or automotive service management background is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures including transmissions, oil changes, brake systems, suspensions, shocks & struts, tire services, diesel engines, auto body repairs, air brakes, alignments, and more
- Experience working with auto estimating software and service writing is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to upsell services while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly yet professional demeanor
- Familiarity with mechanic work or technician experience is beneficial for understanding technical aspects of vehicle repairs
- Prior experience handling cash transactions accurately in a fast-paced environment
