Role Description
The Human Resources Director is a full-time, on-site role located in Eastsound, WA.
The Director of Human Resources is a key member of the district's leadership team that manages all personnel systems, procedures and records for district staff ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, district policies, and collective bargaining agreements. The Director oversees the human resource department, personnel budgeting, benefits, and hiring, working closely with Finance/Payroll to ensure accurate employee contracts and pay. The Director is responsible for maintaining an equitable and effective working environment while observing strict confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Human Resources and implementing HR policies for a diverse organization.
- Proven ability to manage Employee Relations, including conflict resolution and workplace engagement strategies.
- Strong knowledge of Performance Management practices, including coaching, evaluation processes, and employee development.
- Comprehensive understanding of Labor and Employment Law, with the ability to ensure regulatory compliance and manage labor relations effectively.
- Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities to interact with diverse groups and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or equivalent. Qualifying experience may be substituted for education.
- Knowledge of the Public Education System.
- Previous Human Resources experience preferred.
