Injection Molding Specialist / Shipping and Receiving

POSITION SUMMARY

Position maintains a wide scope of simple to complex responsibilities in the manufacturing department. i.e., performs research and compiles data as required of the assigned position; responsible for inputting data into computer systems, i.e., materials/inventory tracking, production data, shipping/receiving and vendors’ data, and similar data entry functions. Assists in maintaining manufacturing specifications and processes according to injection molding standards; assists in performing time studies and monitors ergonomic modifications made to enhance or facilitate employee accommodation and performance; performs routine engineering assignments such as simple design work, work studies and record keeping; responsible for processes associated with molds injection machine; stages work center equipment and running production jobs including installation of molds in molding machines, safeties related, molds, and co-workers;

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Dependent on the department and location to which the position is assigned, duties may include all or some of the following:

• Inputs inventory control data for government contracts; establishes and maintains shipping and receiving records to assure that the quality, condition of product, and quantity match purchase orders;
• Supply production departments with material requirements from material requisitions; properly document transfer of material and goods to work-in-process;
• Documents and records all purchase orders for subcontract work; verify subcontract billing accuracy;
• Checks for accuracy of inputted and extracted data; refer discrepancies to supervisors and obtain correct and verifiable information;
• Process packages, i.e., FedEx, UPS and deliver to appropriate personnel;
• Assure outgoing shipments are complete and accurate, i.e., appropriate labeling, packing slips, bill of ladings and the like;
• Responsible for issuing, monitoring, and recording cycle count information.
• Responsible for ensuring that critical inventory movements are completed daily.
• Maintains data on product design and conformance to engineering principles, customer requirement data, product quality standards and specifications; may work on completing product drawings; may assist in time-study projects and production rate standards;
• Maintains appropriate files on destructive and non-destructive testing, processes certifications for equipment and assists with government compliance standards;
• May assist in securing data that establishes standards for piece rate and sub-minimum employees; may suggest/recommend changes relative to manufacturing or engineering processes;
• Interfaces with quality and production personnel for purposes of continuous product improvement;
• Maintains the injection molding equipment;
• Abides by and ensures employee safety; helps enforce all applicable EHS, regulations, safety procedures and use appropriate PPE as required:
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors or technical two-year degree in manufacturing/industrial engineering highly desirable; one (1) to two (2) years’ experience in engineering departments, product design, shipping receiving, injection molding or similar experience in an industrial environment; must have good interpersonal and communication skills and a working knowledge of computer applications; knowledge of ISO Standards, product line and quality systems highly desirable.

A two-year college certification in data entry/administration or related field with one (1) to two (2) years’ experience in performing similar duties as those required by the position is highly desirable; must have good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and possess good knowledge of computer

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
