Dura-Line is seeking an experienced Operational Technologies (OT) Engineer to support and expand connectivity across our manufacturing operations.

This role serves as the bridge between manufacturing equipment, Operational Technology (OT) systems, and enterprise IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring reliable, secure, and accurate production data flows from the shop floor into the systems used by Engineering, Operations, and business leaders to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.

Success in this role requires a combination of technical expertise and strong collaboration skills. You'll work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, IT, and external equipment vendors to implement and support manufacturing connectivity solutions across multiple facilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving manufacturing data challenges, improving operational visibility, and supporting digital transformation initiatives in a multi-site manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

  • Design, implement, and support communications between manufacturing equipment, OT systems, and enterprise IT infrastructure.

  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Ignition applications and integrations.

  • Administer and support manufacturing historian platforms, including Canary Labs and similar technologies.

  • Ensure manufacturing data is accurate, available, and reliable across OT systems and connected applications.

  • Select and implement I/O and connectivity hardware to support manufacturing data acquisition requirements.

  • Support integration and troubleshooting of PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment.

  • Develop and maintain OT standards, documentation, and best practices to improve system sustainability and scalability.

  • Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, IT teams, and equipment vendors to support manufacturing connectivity initiatives.

  • Influence equipment selection and implementation decisions to ensure future data acquisition and connectivity requirements are met.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve manufacturing performance, operational visibility, and data integrity.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to plant maintenance and engineering teams.

  • Support multiple manufacturing facilities through a combination of remote work and onsite project support.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience supporting Operational Technology (OT), industrial automation, manufacturing systems, or manufacturing connectivity solutions.

  • Experience with Ignition SCADA configuration, administration, development, or support.

  • Experience working with manufacturing historian platforms such as Canary, PI Historian, Wonderware Historian, or similar technologies.

  • Knowledge of OPC communications, industrial networking, and manufacturing data acquisition systems.

  • Working knowledge of PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and industrial control systems.

  • Strong understanding of shop-floor networking, data logging, and manufacturing connectivity.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across indirect and matrixed organizations.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, project management tools, and data analysis tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting multiple manufacturing sites.

  • Background as an OT Engineer, Automation Engineer, Controls Engineer, Manufacturing Systems Engineer, or Automation Technician.

  • Experience integrating new equipment into manufacturing connectivity environments.

  • Knowledge of edge computing technologies and industrial data architectures.

  • Experience supporting remote manufacturing operations.

Why You'll Enjoy This Role

  • Work on high-impact digital manufacturing initiatives across multiple facilities.

  • Help shape the future of Operational Technology within a growing global manufacturing organization.

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, IT, and business leaders across North America.

  • Enjoy a remote work environment with flexibility and autonomy while remaining connected to plant operations.

  • Contribute to innovative solutions that improve manufacturing performance and operational visibility.

Travel Requirements

  • Primarily a remote position.

  • Up to 25% travel throughout the United States and Canada (approximately one week per month).
