Role Description The Fitness Coach is a full-time, on-site role based at the Orangetheory Fitness studio in Ramsey, NJ. This role is responsible for leading high-energy group exercise classes, delivering safe and effective fitness instruction, and coaching members through structured workouts that blend strength and cardio training. Day-to-day tasks include demonstrating proper exercise techniques, monitoring participant safety and form, providing individualized modifications, and motivating members to achieve their personal fitness goals. The Fitness Coach collaborates with the studio team to create a welcoming environment, supports member onboarding and retention, and may provide general guidance on healthy lifestyle habits. The role requires consistent punctuality, reliable attendance, and a commitment to upholding Orangetheory’s coaching standards and brand values.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in group exercise and fitness instruction, with the ability to lead dynamic and inclusive classes.
- Experience in fitness training within the fitness industry, including program delivery and member coaching.
- Basic knowledge of nutrition and healthy lifestyle principles to support member education and overall wellness.
- Relevant fitness certifications (e.g., CPT, group fitness) and current CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills, with the ability to coach individuals of varying fitness levels.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends, as required by studio operations.
- Previous experience in a studio, gym, or athletic coaching environment is preferred.
