Orangeburg Preparatory Schools, Inc., Orangeburg, South Carolina, is accepting applications for a full-time chemistry teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. We are seeking a subject area expert who, in collaboration with the administration, is responsible for the scientific development and inquiry of our students.
Responsibilities:
- Teach high school Chemistry and Physics courses
- Plan and implement lab-based instruction, ensuring safe and effective laboratory practices
- Develop lesson plans aligned with school curriculum and standards
- Foster a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment
- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback
- Maintain and organize laboratory equipment and materials
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Teaching experience at the high school level preferred
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety protocols
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- A commitment to student-centered learning and school community involvement
Preferred Qualities:
- Experience with hands-on lab instruction and experiments
- Ability to teach both Chemistry and Physics
- Enthusiasm for mentoring students and supporting extracurricular activities
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
