Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and powertrains.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems.
- Service vehicle components such as brakes, suspension, steering, and alignments to ensure safety and performance standards are met.
- Repair or replace parts using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive repair tools.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines and work on GM vehicles or other makes as required.
- Conduct ADAS calibrations and ensure proper functioning of advanced safety features.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete auto estimating tasks, and communicate repair needs clearly to customers.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs while maintaining high quality standards.
- Follow safety protocols during all repair procedures to create a safe working environment.
Experience
- Proven dealership experience or service technician experience in an automotive repair setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with schematics, automotive electrical systems, transmissions, powertrain components, and vehicle alignment procedures.
- Experience working with GM vehicles or diesel engine repair is a plus.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive service technology.
- Knowledge of ADAS systems and ability to perform calibration procedures effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
