Job Summary
Orange Wine & Liquor is seeking a motivated and experienced Store Manager to lead daily operations, supervise staff, and help drive overall store performance. This role is ideal for someone with strong retail leadership experience who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and takes pride in operational excellence.
We are strongly prioritizing candidates with prior wine, liquor, or beverage retail experience. Candidates without direct liquor industry experience must have strong retail management experience with proven leadership, inventory management, customer service, and team supervision skills.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Supervise and lead team members including cashiers, sales associates, and inventory staff
- Deliver exceptional customer service and professionally resolve customer concerns
- Assist with hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management
- Oversee inventory control, merchandising, restocking, and supplier coordination
- Ensure full compliance with NYS liquor laws, ID verification procedures, and company policies
- Monitor sales performance and assist with pricing strategies and promotions
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming store environment
- Support cash handling procedures, POS operations, and daily reconciliations
- Help drive store sales while maintaining a premium customer experience
Qualifications
- Strong preference for candidates with wine, liquor, beverage, or alcohol retail experience
- Candidates without liquor industry experience must have strong retail management or supervisory experience
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with inventory management, merchandising, and retail operations
- Familiarity with retail math concepts including margins, discounts, and sales reporting
- Must be 21 years old (required by law)
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods
- Multilingual abilities are a plus to support our diverse customer base
- Evening and weekend availability required
- Must be good with computer
