Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage front desk responsibilities with professionalism and courtesy
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance authorization and verification, and handle billing processes using EMR system
- Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software and multi-line phone systems
- Assist with intake procedures, patient registration, and data entry while maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems to ensure precise documentation review and updates
- Conduct insurance verification processes to facilitate smooth claims submission and follow-up on outstanding payments
- Maintain organized filing of medical records and perform clerical tasks such as data entry, typing (including 10-key typing), filing, and document scanning
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong knowledge of medical terminology and health information management
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with hospital or dental clinic workflows is highly desirable
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and office management software
- Strong customer service skills with professional phone etiquette for handling multi-line phone systems effectively
- Previous clinic or office experience involving medical administrative support is highly valued
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
