Position Summary: The Assistant Director is responsible for recruitment, hiring, and the development and oversight of internship programs that support the workforce needs of the organization and align with the needs of department administrators.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Lead recruiting and hiring teams in support of organizational needs
- Lead with the upmost integrity and highest HR standards
- Provide professional reports and presentations related to recruitment, hiring, and internship programs
Talent Acquisition and Development
- Negotiate, create, facilitate, and implement recruitment programs that support the needs of department administrators
- Oversee recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes that attract diverse and mission-aligned talent
- Facilitate pre-hire assessments and onboarding decisions in consultation with the Director of Human Resources and any other applicable administrators
- Monitor departmental turnover
Employee Relations and Engagement
- Establish & maintain professional relationships with team members, organization administrators, and community partners
- Cultivate a positive culture that values communication, collaboration, and accountability
- Oversee tuition reimbursement and educational advancement opportunities
- Create, conduct and oversee satisfaction surveys with interns and community partners
- Maintain a flexible work schedule to attend meetings, to consult with agency employees, and to work with community partners
Compliance and HR Operations
- Manage all tasks with integrity and discretion
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Report any concerns timely to the Director of Human Resources
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2 years of supervisory experience
- Strong interpersonal, coaching, and development skills
- Experience with prioritizing multiple tasks to completion and producing professional quality results
- Fluent computers skills
- Professional demeanor and professional communication skills
- Dedication to continually improving the work conditions and professional development of each employee
- Commitment to the mission, ethics, and values of Orange Grove Center
- Good overall physical health and personal stamina. A physical examination, including TB skin test or chest x-ray is required prior to employment
- Compliance with Drug Free Workplace policy
Preferred
- Experience recruiting and developing workforce partnerships
- Experience working in or with nonprofit or mission-driven organizations
- Experience performing the essential duties of management, training, mentoring, recruiting, and negotiating internship opportunities
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and analytics tools
