Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in education, including but not limited to curriculum development, instructional strategies, classroom management, educational psychology, and assessment.
- Prepare and deliver course content using a variety of instructional methods and technologies.
- Develop and update syllabi, course materials, and assessments in alignment with departmental standards and learning outcomes.
- Evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, projects, and participation.
- Maintain regular office hours (virtual or in-person) to provide academic support to students.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities as required.
- Stay current with developments in the field of education and incorporate relevant research and practices into teaching.
- Adhere to institutional policies, procedures, and academic standards.
- Master’s degree in education or a closely related field from an accredited institution (Doctorate preferred for graduate-level instruction).
- Prior teaching experience at the college or university level is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in subject matter relevant to the course(s) taught.
- Experience with online learning platforms and instructional technology is desirable.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Strong knowledge of educational theory, pedagogy, and current trends in education.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in using learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an academic team.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods during lectures or online instruction.
- Frequent use of computers and other instructional technology.
- Occasional lifting of materials or equipment up to 25 pounds.
- May require travel to campus or off-site locations depending on course delivery format.
