Overview
Under general direction, performs complex accounting activities that support financial reports and maintenance of the general ledger. Interprets and implements federal and state and local requirements.
This is an exempt position in Salary Grade 195: Min $88,753.60 – Mid $106,038.40 – Max $123,302.40 annually. The starting salary will be within this range based on qualifications.

- Supports the Section Manager in accounting and financial reporting activities of the 405 Express Lanes (405EL), 91 Express Lanes (91EL), and other projects.
- Reviews contract operators’ journal entries and ledger transactions to make sure compliance with GAAP. Assists in making recommendations or improvements in accounting practices.
- Participates in the preparation of interim and year-end audit, Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), 405EL financial statements, 91EL financial statements, and other related financial information. Prepares required schedules, statements and footnotes as assigned.
- Prepares various ad hoc reports, including but not limited to the monthly and quarterly 405EL reports and monthly 91EL and 405EL operating statements, in accordance with established guidelines and ensures compliance with all applicable requirements.
- Prepares various journal entries to properly reflect activity in the General Ledger. Utilizes analytical and accounting skills to determine journal entries needed.
- Performs month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Contributes to the implementation of new GASB pronouncements and standards.
- Updates the Chart of Accounts on a quarterly basis for organization keys, object codes, and job keys and uploads to the OCTA intranet on a regular basis.
- Reviews and analyzes general ledger data to ensure accuracy and integrity of information related to the 405EL the 91ELand other projects as assigned.

- Prepares account and project reconciliations to ensure that account activities are recorded accurately in the General Ledger. Utilizes analytical skills to research and resolve variances.
- Coordinates and assists in the communication of information to internal auditors, external auditors, and other regulatory agencies. Responds to auditor’s questions and requests for additional information. Communicates issues and recommendations to contract operators and OCTA project managers, as necessary.
