What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Fleet Mechanic position at Orange County Transit, LLC?
Orange County Transit LLC is seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic for our School Buses in our Walden location. Gas and Diesel Type A, B or C.
This is a fulltime position, Monday - Friday. Competitive Rate of Pay Based on Experience, with starting rate of $26.00 per hour.
If you have limited mechanical experience we are willing to train the right candidate!
Qualifications:
- ASE preferred but not required
- Must have experience with Diesel, Air/Hydraulic Brakes, A/C and DOT
- Candidate will regularly perform repairs and maintenance
- Must have own tools. Company provides Computer and Software.
- Must be proficient in Electronic Diagnosis, Repair of Diesel, Gasoline powered buses small and large
- Able to perform DOT inspections and diagnostic testing
- Electrical repairs are a plus
- CDL license required, will train for license
- Must pass physical/drug testing
- Candidate should possess drive/interest in New Technology and Training

Experience:
- Automotive diagnostics: 2 years (Required)
- Mechanical knowledge: 5 years (Required)
- School bus driving: 1 year (Preferred)
- Diesel Engine Repair: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- CDL A or B (Preferred)
- NYS License (Required)
