We are seeking a Commercial Real Estate Loan Officer with experience to contribute to our growth.
The Commercial Loan Office is a highly driven, sales‑oriented lender responsible for originating, structuring, and closing Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and owner‑user C&I loans, including SBA 7(a) and 504 transactions. The ideal candidate will bring a proven book of business or established referral network, excel at prospecting new relationships, and consistently exceed aggressive production targets. This role requires strategic market engagement, strong negotiation skills, and collaboration with internal partners to deliver tailored financing solutions. You will also demonstrate strong sales capabilities, including cold calling, prospecting site visits, and in-person meetings to build and nurture relationships and drive loan commitments.
What you can look forward to:
Originations & Sales:
- Actively prospect, nurture, and close new CRE and C&I lending opportunities within the Credit Union target market areas.
- Leverage existing network and book of business to drive new loan volume.
- Meet or exceed monthly/quarterly production and revenue targets (e.g., $15M in funded loans per quarter).
Pipeline Management:
- Maintain a robust sales pipeline in CRM; document all contacts, referral, and deal progress.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on pipeline status, forecast, and sales strategies.
Credit Structuring & Underwriting:
- Analyze borrower financials, property valuations, and market trends to structure competitive loan proposals.
- Collaborate with underwriting and credit teams to ensure timely credit approval and accurate loan documentation.
Relationship Development:
- Build and sustain relationships with commercial real estate brokers, developers, CPA/accounting firms, and local business organizations.
- Represent the Credit Union at industry events, networking groups, and community forums.
Client Service & Retention:
- Provide exceptional member experience by delivering consultative guidance and proactive account management.
- Identify cross‑sell opportunities (deposits, treasury services, insurance, etc.) and coordinate referrals to internal partners.
Market Intelligence & Strategy:
- Monitor CRE market dynamics, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes; recommend adjustments to pricing and product strategy.
Team Collaboration & Partnership:
- Partner with branch managers and business development associates to maximize referral generation.
- Collaborate closely with branch managers, business development associates, and underwriting teams to coordinate referral strategies and streamline the end‑to‑end loan process.
- Lead periodic sales strategy sessions to share market insights, product enhancements, and successful prospecting techniques.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience/ Training/ Education:
- AA degree in Business or equivalent experience preferred.
- Five or more years’ retail experience in commercial lending, including SBA 7(a) and 504 as a Loan Officer.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
- Exceptional sales acumen: proven ability to prospect, negotiate, and close complex commercial loans.
- Deep knowledge of CRE, C&I, and SBA underwriting principles, loan structuring, and risk management.
- Strong financial analysis skills, with proficiency in evaluating cash flow, DSCR, and LTV metrics.
- Ability to speak and hear to give and receive instructions and information to others in person and over the telephone. Other language skills are helpful.
- Excellent relationship‑building and presentation skills; comfortable in front of C‑suite executives and institutional clients.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented, and capable of operating independently in a fast‑paced environment.

- Base Pay - Base pay is between $35.00 Per Hour & $43.00 Per Hour
