Teacher - Grade 2

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join our team at Unionville Elementary as a Grade 2 Teacher. In this full-time position, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for our second-grade students. You will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive curriculum that promotes academic growth, social development, and a love of learning. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to student success, collaboration with colleagues, and effective communication with parents and guardians.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
• Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Assess and monitor student progress through formal and informal evaluations, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to design and participate in school-wide initiatives and activities.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and any concerns.
• Foster a culture of respect and inclusivity within the classroom, addressing any behavioral issues with appropriate interventions.
• Utilize various instructional strategies and technologies to enhance student learning and engagement.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and contribute to the school community.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Valid teaching certification for elementary education or willing to obtain
• Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching methodologies for young learners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Proficient in using technology for instructional purposes and classroom management.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Commitment to fostering a safe and nurturing learning environment.
• Previous teaching experience in a Grade 2 classroom is preferred but not required.
