Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long Term Substitute for our Math department at Prospect Heights Middle. This Math includes Algebra, Pre-Algebra and Math 8. The ideal candidate will provide instructional support to students, maintain a positive learning environment, and ensure continuity of education in the absence of the regular teacher. This position requires a strong understanding of middle school mathematics concepts and the ability to engage students in their learning.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective math instruction to students in grades 6-8, following the established curriculum.
- Create lesson plans that are aligned with state standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and informal assessments, providing timely feedback.
- Maintain classroom management and foster a respectful and supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student learning and address individual needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field preferred.
- Valid teaching certification or license in Mathematics for middle school level preferred.
- Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience in a middle school setting is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of middle school math concepts and instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to varying classroom environments and student needs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Job Type: Temporary
Pay: $125.00 - $190.00 per day
