Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in the preparation and implementation of lesson plans and instructional materials.
- Support students in their learning by providing one-on-one or small group assistance in various subjects.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback and encouragement to enhance learning outcomes.
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and participation.
- Collaborate with teachers to assess student needs and adapt instructional strategies accordingly.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, and recess to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
- Assist in the organization and management of classroom resources, materials, and equipment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional skills and knowledge.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members regarding student progress and needs.
- Support the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, teachers, and parents.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when needed.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed academically and socially.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology and software.
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in education is a plus.
- Must pass background checks and any required certifications for working with children in an educational setting.
Salary : $22,514 - $31,285
