Instructional Assistant

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Instructional Assistant at Locust Grove Middle. This full-time position plays a vital role in supporting classroom instruction and enhancing the educational experience for students. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers to facilitate effective learning environments, assist with lesson delivery, and provide individualized support to students.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and classroom activities.
• Support students in their learning by providing one-on-one or small group assistance.
• Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers as necessary.
• Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Assist with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other non-classroom activities.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure effective communication and support for student learning.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional skills.
• Perform administrative tasks such as grading assignments, organizing materials, and maintaining student records.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher preferred.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with educational technology and classroom management strategies.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
• Ability to adapt to diverse learning needs and styles.
• Background check and clearance as required by school district policies.
