Overview

Orange County Parent Child Center (OCPCC) is seeking Early Education Teacher Associates to join the opening team of the new Woodlands Campus in Randolph, Vermont, with start dates beginning February 2026. This role offers a unique opportunity to help prepare classrooms, support program planning, and contribute to the successful launch of a high-quality early childhood center.

Ideal candidates have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with young children, from infants through preschool, in childcare centers or in-home settings. Purpose of the Position

The Early Education Teacher Associate supports classroom management, curriculum implementation, and child development as part of a collaborative teaching team, helping ensure a positive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement curriculum
  • Prepare and maintain a safe classroom environment
  • Observe, record, and report child behaviors
  • Support appropriate child behavior and consistent discipline
  • Communicate with parents as needed
  • Administer first aid and handle emergencies
  • Participate in required training and professional development
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information
  • Comply with state licensing requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A teacher associate is at least twenty (20) years of age, is a high school graduate or has completed a GED, and meets one (1) of the following qualifications:
  • - At least a Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Three (3)Certificate; or
  • - At least an associate degree from an accredited college with a major orconcentration in Early Childhood, Child or Human Development, Elementary Education, or Child and Family Services and at least twelve (12) months experience working with groups of children from grade three (3) or younger; or
  • - At least a Certificate of Completion from the Registered Child Care Apprenticeship Program; or
  • - At least a Child Care Certificate from the Community College of Vermont and at least twelve (12) months experience working with groups of children from grade three (3) or younger; or
  • - At least successful completion of twenty-one (21) college credits with an early childhood or school age focus and at least twelve (12) months experience working with groups of children from grade three (3) or younger.
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Two years’ experience working with children
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Required Certifications & Background Checks

  • Current First Aid & CPR certification (or ability to obtain prior to start).
  • Vermont Agency of Education required background checks, including fingerprinting.
  • Completion of state-mandated trainings prior to or shortly after hire (Mandated Reporter, Medication Administration, etc.).

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, squatting, and floor-level interaction with children.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all seasons.

Terms: Permanent, non-exempt, full-time

Salary/Rate: $25.00 - $28.00 - hourly rate based on qualifications

Reports to: ECE Director

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
