Job Description
General Functions:
Responsible for facilitating recreational activities and programs for people of all ages, as well as the preparation of outdoor/indoor park facilities and spaces for public use. This position ensures that visitors have opportunities for recreation in a safe and inviting environment when utilizing Orange County Parks and Recreation facilities. Responsible for completing monthly part-time and volunteer schedules and for conducting specialized classes and training.
Work is performed under close direction and supervision of Site Supervisor or designated supervisor. Performance is reviewed through work-in-progress, conferences and results achieved.
Candidates selected for this position must be able to work a variety of shifts, including days, weekends, nights and holidays as well as perform their job duties in all weather conditions. This position is not eligible for remote work.
Representative Duties/Assignments:
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
Experience in youth and sport program leadership.
Experience in building maintenance and/or athletic field management.
Experience with aquatic facility operations and maintenance.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

- Responsible for keeping the facility clean and free of debris, including restrooms, sweeping, trash removal, and performing other custodial duties as needed.
- Open, close and secure the park sites and/or facilities.
- Assists Park patrons. Works in contact with all age groups to include youth and elderly.
- Utilizes specialized equipment to perform landscaping and grounds maintenance duties for multiple parks that may include athletic turf, campgrounds, diamond sport fields, trails, aquatic, etc.
- Plan and/or assists in special event programming.
- May be responsible for conducting inventory and ordering supplies.
- Performs classes or recreational activities; conducts classes with program participants to include all age groups.
- Completes and submits required reports, forms, and staff performance evaluations.
- Responsible for collecting, preparing and approving revenue collections.
- Collects fees and maintains records of money received. Conducts registration for programs using software and specialized system effectively.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) months of experience in recreation programming.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's license.
- Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification within twelve (12) months from date of hire.
- May be required to possess and maintain an Aquatic License.
- May be required to possess and maintain a Certified Pool and Spa Operator Certification.
Experience in youth and sport program leadership.
Experience in building maintenance and/or athletic field management.
Experience with aquatic facility operations and maintenance.

- The additional pay applies only to hours worked within that time range and is calculated in 1/10th-hour increments.
