THE POSITION
The Assistant Fire Marshal, Community Wildfire Mitigation transfer opportunity is an Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) internal recruitment. This transfer opportunity recruitment will be used to fill a future vacancy in the Community Wildland Mitigation section.
CLASS SUMMARY:
Incumbents are responsible for supervising and coordinating the day-to-day operations of assigned section. Incumbent will be assigned to the Community Wildfire Mitigation, or Prevention Field Services sections.

Assistant Fire Marshal
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
EXPERIENCE (position requirements at entry):
- Must be currently employed as a non-probationary Orange County Fire Authority Assistant Fire Marshal.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS (position requirements at entry):
- Possession of a valid California Class C Driver License.
This classification is subject to enrollment in the California DMV Pull Notice Program, which periodically provides Risk Management with the incumbent's Driver License record and status.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require balancing, crouching, crawling, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, driving, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel.
NOTE: Position assignment will vary depending on the needs of the department.
