Orange County Department of Mental Health is seeking two Licensed Clinical Social Workers to work in our NYS Office of Mental Health licensed outpatient clinics in Port Jervis and Newburgh NY. LCSWs maintain a caseload and work as part of a clinic team providing assessment and treatment services to children, adults, and families. The nature of one appointment is temporary substitute. Once the permanent holder attains status in another position, this position will become permanent, subject to a probationary term.

STAFF SOCIAL WORKER, GRADE 16 ORANGE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH
The work involves responsibility for performing social work to help individuals with social, emotional, and related difficulties. These positions are part of dynamic County-Operated Clinic Teams working with children, adults, and families. The work is performed within prescribed professional standards with considerable latitude permitted in formulation of treatment plans and methods, and administration of therapy. Work is performed under the general supervision of a designated supervisor (Mental Health). Incumbent is required to work some evenings.
This position has been assigned to a Hiring Emergency Limited Placement (HELP) Program- designated title. After your probationary period, you will be granted competitive class status without the need to participate in a competitive exam; however, you must successfully complete the remainder of your prescribed probationary period.
Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a professional license and current registration as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker issued by the New York State Education Department.

NOTE: Must possess the ability to fulfill the travel requirements of field assignments. The successful candidate will be subject to a background investigation, including a Criminal History Record Check.
Starting Salary: Grade 16, Step 04: $98,320.77 annually (40 hours/week)
