Overview of Position
Reporting to the Accounting Manager the Staff Accountant supports the broader organizational goals of “asset growth” and “operational excellence”. We’re looking for an individual who wants to use their finance and accounting skills to do a variety of tasks while working in a collaborative customer service focused organization. Working with CPA’s and other financial professionals provides an opportunity to strengthen finance and accounting skills while making a positive impact in the community and feeling good about what you do every day.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
Gift Entry
The ability to work for an organization with a phenomenal mission and positive team-oriented work environment. This non-exempt position offers a competitive salary range of $33.65 to $37.50 hourly, commensurate with experience as well as incredible benefits including Medical, Dental & Vision, 403(b) retirement plan with an automatic contribution by the organization, 2 weeks of vacation, 2 weeks of PSL, 10 annual paid holidays and the opportunity for a 9/80 work schedule. The position will have the opportunity to work from home one day per week.

Main Duties And Responsibilities
Gift Entry
- Record charitable donations into donor advised and other charitable funds through our Customer Relationship Management model, Salesforce.
- Generate donor gift acknowledgment letters
- Pull the High/Low financial information for stock gift transactions.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries of gift and acknowledgment letter status.
- Follow up with donors to ensure correct processing of on-line gift transactions
- Work with Marketing and Development teams to ensure accurate entry, sponsorship and campaign classification of donations for the Annual Meeting Event.
- Preparation of monthly investment account reconciliations
- Investigation, resolution, and response to internal and external inquiries for financial information regarding charitable funds.
- Assistance with preparation of reports and financial analysis provided to our Finance Committee, Investment Committee, Audit Committee and to the Board of Governors.
- Assist with the annual external audit to prepare information for auditor review.
- Quarterly review of donor fund statements.
- Part of the team involved with the quarterly accounting close process including assigned reconciliations, journal entries and/or financial analysis.
- Monitor our loans to Agencies portfolio monthly to review payments due and calculate interest owed on the loan receivable balances. Provide support to the Donor and Community Engagement Department regarding loan status.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2-3 years of work experience in an Accounting or Finance role ideally within a nonprofit or professional services environment.
- Salesforce or Sage Intacct experience a plus but not required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word)
- Detail oriented
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and to think critically
- Organized with ability to juggle multiple tasks
- Willingness to learn and keep learning to improve skills and job performance
- Demonstrated customer service focus and mentality
- Demonstrates courtesy and respect in all interactions with internal and external customers.
