Residential Foreclosure Mediation Coordinator

Job description:

The Mediation Coordinator is the point of contact for all plaintiffs, defendants, and mediators participating with the Residential Foreclosure Mediation Program. The Mediation Coordinator also handles the attorney scheduling for the Seminole and Orange Clerk’s Self Help Centers. The Mediation Coordinator is required to follow the procedures set forth in the program manuals and governing Administrative Order. The Mediation Coordinator may be assigned to assist with other duties or projects assigned by either the Director of Public Programs or the Executive Director. This position will also be responsible for covering the front desk in the event that the receptionist is on a break or out of the office. The Mediation Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Public Programs.

• Process new case payments.
• Mail letters to homeowners.
• Contact the homeowners to notify them of the program deadlines.
• Conduct searches using LexisNexis to find good contact information for homeowners if none was provided.
• Draft and mail removal notices.
• Facilitate the start of the mediation to ensure compliance with the governing Administrative Order.
• Register homeowners to attend the monthly Foreclosure Information Seminars.
• Facilitate the Zoom meeting for the monthly seminar.
• Update case statuses in the program Excel spreadsheet.
• Handles the document exchange and mediation scheduling for the RFMP clients.
• Serves as point of contact for the Plaintiff firms in RFMP cases.
• Ensures Plaintiff firms are in compliance with Administrative Order 2012-06-03 for the RFMP.
• Facilitate Zoom meetings for the scheduled mediations.
• Files RFMP mediation reports.
• Schedules attorneys for Self Help Center shifts in Seminole and Orange Counties.
• Collects and reviews Self Help Center attorney timesheets.
• Addresses scheduling conflicts as they arise.
• Recruits and onboard Self Help Center attorneys.
• Covers the front desk as needed.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
• Exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those of sedentary work. Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree.

Qualifications:

• Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in a law-related field or prior work experience in the legal field is preferred.
