$2550 per hour, depending on experience
Position Summary
Orange Community Education and Recreation invites applications from visual arts
professionals to teach cartooning and character design at the Orange Art Center. We
are seeking an engaging and reliable instructor with consistent Saturday availability to
lead youth classes focused on illustration, storytelling, and character creation. The
instructor will guide students through foundational and intermediate concepts in
cartooning, including drawing techniques, facial expressions, body language, stylization,
and visual storytelling. The ideal candidate will foster creativity, confidence, and skill
development in a supportive classroom environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience teaching art to children (required); experience with grades 3 - 9
preferred - Background in cartooning, illustration, animation, or related visual arts
- Degree in Fine Arts, Arts Education, or a related field
- Enthusiasm for teaching and inspiring creativity
- Ability to pass required background check
- Must meet general qualifications as established by Orange City Schools and
Orange Community Education and Recreation
