General Summary:

The AI Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing prompts and workflows for AI systems, ensuring that language models and generative AI tools deliver accurate, safe, and contextually relevant outputs for Orange Bank & Trust Company and its affiliates. This role bridges the gap between technical AI capabilities and business needs, collaborating with stakeholders to create effective AI-driven solutions and enhance user experiences.


Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:

  1. Design, test, and refine prompts for large language models (LLMs) and generative AI tools to support business operations, customer service, compliance, and innovation.
  2. Collaborate with IT, compliance, and business units to identify use cases and requirements for AI-driven automation and decision support.
  3. Analyze AI outputs for accuracy, bias, and safety; implement prompt engineering best practices to mitigate risks and improve reliability.
  4. Document prompt libraries, workflows, and standard operating procedures for AI interactions.
  5. Monitor AI system performance, troubleshoot issues, and recommend improvements.
  6. Stay current on trends in AI, prompt engineering, and regulatory requirements affecting AI deployment in the banking sector.
  7. Provide training and guidance to staff on effective use of AI tools and prompt strategies.
  8. Ensure compliance with all relevant IT, data privacy, and banking regulations.
  9. Perform other duties as required and assigned.
  10. Participate in cross-functional teams for AI product development and digital transformation initiatives.
  11. Support the evaluation and selection of new AI technologies and platforms.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, natural language processing, and prompt engineering techniques.
  • Knowledge of APIs
  • Ability to translate business requirements into effective AI prompts and workflows.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python) and AI platforms.
  • Commitment to ethical AI practices, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.



Education, Certifications, Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in data analytics or equivalent.
  • Exposure to Azure data tools.
  • Strong understanding of systems design concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and user support.
  • Ability to adapt to changes and learn new technologies quickly.
  • Confidentiality – This position requires a high level of confidentiality. This position has access to customer financial information and personal information.
  • Communication – This position will have contact with the public and departments. Must be able to communicate effectively and have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Documentation – Writing technical documents and using collaborative tools such as DevOps or Git
  • Multitasking/Sound Judgment – Needs the ability to multitask, quick and accurate decisions and be organized. Decisions need to be made in the best interest of the bank while mitigating any risk to loss. Must be able to handle various processes at the same time and be able to work under tight deadlines.
  • Computer Skills/Technology – Must have exposure to or a willingness to learn data analytics and engineering toolsets including SQL / Azure Data Factory / Azure Synapse / Snowflake / PowerBI 



Work Environment:

  • Flexibility to work additional hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as required.
  • Typically the noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.
  • Will have a high volume of interactions in person and over the telephone.
  • Fast-paced environment.
  • May experience occasional job stress in response to job demands.
  • There are no significant hazardous conditions.



Physical Demands:

  • Frequently required to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Mobility required greeting and assisting employees and visitors.
  • Frequently required to skillfully operate a computer, telephone and other standard office equipment.
  • Travel between all locations of the bank.
  • Occasionally travel outside of work location to attend meetings and training programs.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
