About the Role
We are seeking a highly accomplished Senior Software Developer to design, build, and maintain complex applications supporting mission-critical Federal systems. This role requires technical depth, architectural thinking, and proven experience delivering secure, high-performance software solutions across the full SDLC.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional who brings both strategic vision and hands-on expertise, capable of mentoring teams, enforcing code quality standards, and guiding projects from concept through deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of enterprise-grade software systems for Federal clients.
Architect scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions across multiple programming environments.
Drive the full SDLC—from requirements and design through coding, peer review, testing, and release.
Implement and enforce secure coding practices and DevSecOps principles in all deliverables.
Conduct technical reviews, performance tuning, and optimization of existing applications.
Collaborate with system architects, product owners, and security teams to ensure compliance with Federal security standards.
Provide technical leadership to junior and mid-level developers; foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
10 years of proven experience in professional software development.
Deep expertise in PHP, SQL, Java, Lucee ColdFusion, JavaScript, and C .
Strong understanding of secure application design, data integration, and API architecture.
Demonstrated experience delivering production software in agile or sprint-based environments.
Proficiency with GitHub, CI/CD tools, and version control best practices.
Experience with federal compliance frameworks (e.g., FISMA, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP).
U.S. Citizenship required for clearance eligibility.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Moodle or other e-learning platforms.
Familiarity with cloud architectures (Azure or AWS).
Strong understanding of performance tuning, code optimization, and scalability.
Prior experience in Federal, defense, or large-scale enterprise environments.
