Full job description
Full time dental assistant needed to assist with Oral Surgery. Procedures are all dental extractions and dental implants.
Job is available immediately.
No experience with oral surgery is necessary.
We are an oral surgery team that travels to multiple dental office locations.
We perform mostly wisdom teeth extraction under IV sedation.
You will be working with 3 other oral surgery assistants to help support one oral surgeon. You will always be working with the same surgeon.
Responsibilities
- Take only panos and CBCT (no PAs or full mouth series)
- No impressions or general dentistry!
- We perform 10-25 surgeries per day. It is a fast pace and fun environment!
- Surgeries we perform: wisdom teeth extractions, surgical extractions, full mouth extractions, and dental implants.
- Surgical tray set up and sterilization
- Seat patients, take blood pressure, consent, prepare surgical instruments, discharge patient, clean room.
- Assist with wisdom teeth removal (the doctor performs IV sedation)
- Hand surgeon instruments and suction keeping the surgery field free of blood and saliva.
- We travel around the same 18 dental offices each month (each office gets visited once per month). You will get to meet a lot of people and every day is different and exciting!
Schedule
- M-F, 8-5pm. Fridays usually done early. Need to be at office 30-60 minutes prior to 8AM surgery to prepare. Some days we are done earlier than 5pm and some days we work past 5pm. It helps to be flexible.
- Will always be able to obtain 40hrs per week. If the surgeon has days off then you have the option to work in the dental office assisting the general dentist and a regular dental assistant to maintain your hours.
- There may be busy weeks where you have the option to obtain over 40 hours and receive overtime.
- No Saturdays or Sundays

Multiple office locations (full time)
- Need reliable transportation and flexibility
- We are an oral surgery team that works at multiple dental office locations
- We travel to offices in the following regions: Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice, North Port, Cape Coral, Fort Myers, and Naples.
- North region (Riverview, Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice): 8 offices
- Middle region (Northport, Port charlotte, Punta gorda, Cape coral): 5 offices
- South region (Fort myers, Estero, Bonita springs, naples): 5 offices
- Every day, we go to a different office location to perform oral surgery. You will be with the same team and the same doctor every day...just a different location.
- Will provide mileage reimbursement and drive time for travel when distance is outside a reasonable commute
******This Job is a W2 Full time position by Aspen Dental and you will be exclusively be assisting the surgeon with oral surgery at Aspen Dental offices.
