Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our dental office in Allentown, PA. The EFDA will provide high-level clinical support by performing advanced chairside assisting duties and delegated dental procedures under the supervision of a licensed dentist.
Schedule: Part-Time (2-3 days a week)
8AM-4PM Tuesdays and Fridays
Pay: $30-$35 /hour
Duties
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, including endodontics and general dentistry tasks.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Perform dental radiography (X-Ray) as needed and ensure proper documentation of medical records.
- Utilize 3D scanners for imaging and assist in creating accurate dental impressions.
- Manage patient records, including medical documentation and medical coding as required.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, ensuring everything is stocked and ready for use.
- Perform coronal polishing and apply sealants and fluoride treatments.
- Take impressions for diagnostic casts and provisional crowns.
- Fabricate temporary crowns, bridges, and provisional restorations.
Qualifications:
- Current EFDA certification/license (as required by the state).
- Experience as a dental assistant or EFDA preferred.
