Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our dental offices in Allentown, PA. The EFDA will provide high-level clinical support by performing advanced chairside assisting duties and delegated dental procedures under the supervision of a licensed dentist.
Schedule: Full-time-Mon-Fri 8AM to 4PM
Pay: $28 -$35
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical coding and documentation of treatments performed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow to optimize office operations.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Assist in administrative tasks as needed, including managing inventory of dental supplies.
- Take impressions for diagnostic casts and provisional crowns.
- Fabricate temporary crowns, bridges, and provisional restorations.
Requirements:
- Current EFDA certification/license (as required by the state).
- Experience as a dental assistant or EFDA preferred.
- X-Ray certification
