With a base salary of $120,000-$140,000 annually plus commission, our Business Development Manager is responsible for the sales growth and strategic direction of the Advanced TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) Films division. Responsibilities' will include the development and management of any future sales team while expanding the sales channel for ATPU products.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare and manage annual sales forecast and budgets for the North and South American markets, broken down by geographical territory
- Meet and exceed the forecasted sales volumes for each territory
- Ensures company maintains/expands presence within key industry trade organizations
- Maximize market presence with existing converters, distributors, or resellers
- Work closely with the Marketing department to recognize and develop new campaigns for the promotion of ATPU products when appropriate
- Conduct Performance Appraisals as a part of the management and development process (as required)
- Conduct sales conference calls and meetings on a regular basis
- Conduct quarterly appraisals of channel performance with existing customers
- Create and implement channel management plans and programs to enhance company's position in the market and further develop long-term strategic partners
- Prepare reports for management as required to reflect the performance of the ATPU division.
- Manage department expenses according to the budget
- Ensure an overall consistent image is built through all facets of the market
- Will work alongside our German parent company to create an effective and consistent global message
- Work with cross functional teams to expand our product offerings
- Other tasks as assigned by President and/or management
Additional Responsibilities:
- The ability to manage, motivate, train, and develop a successful sales team
- The ability to develop a competitive compensation plan for future team members
- The ability to develop strategic alliances within the existing distribution network as well as recognize new strategic partners throughout our market
- Possesses the ability to be organized and detailed in the administration of the sales efforts; including computer applications for sales management (MS Word, Power Point, Excel and contact management).
- Follows prescribed safety regulations
- Maintains an optimal level of product quality and adheres to ORAFOL's Quality Program
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree, Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred
Work Experience:
- 8-10 years channel management experience
- ATPU experience desired
Aptitudes & Characteristics:
- Must have a positive "can do" attitude and a sense of accountability
- Proven ability to motivate and support team
- Strong prospecting skills and excellent closing skills
- Ability to make strategic decisions and set the direction of the business
- Excellent verbal and written skills; excellent presentation skills.
- Must be a fast learner, self-motivated; strive towards continuous improvement
- Ability to work with little to no supervision, multi-task and meet deadlines
- Expected travel: ~ 60%
