Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is seeking a Director of Global Data Center Design and Construction, reporting to the leader of DC Engineering Services. As our Director, you would have overall global responsibility for all our OCI data center facility design and construction efforts - including ownership of facility infrastructure design standards, technical site selection, and facility / white space construction projects. You'll oversee key engineering build and construction projects across our global data center infrastructure footprint. You will lead a team of electrical, mechanical, network infrastructure engineering resources in order to drive the evolution of OCI's facility infrastructure design and support our rapid growth. A crucial part of this role will be focused on driving further definition of our infrastructure products and leading continuous improvement in how we design, deploy and expand our data center footprint.

- Lead a team in the design, build, commissioning & delivery of data center critical infrastructure & network capacity for Oracle Cloud.
- Work with other engineering managers in cross functional efforts across the Oracle Data Center Engineering organization.
- Develop and lead updates to the design standards and specifications for consistency, maximum system reliability and optimal facility utilization.
- Provide mission critical system review and assessment to support technical site evaluation efforts for new facilities.
- Research new designs, materials, and construction methods for data center equipment and related components, including site and building.
- Provide and review detailed workflows for change management activities.
- Develop capital project budgets and sophisticated business case analyses.
- Provide and analyze energy efficient solutions to minimize losses.
- Travel to data center sites for building relationships with pre-construction, construction and QA/QC partners, as required (15% - 25% travel).
- Respond on an as-needed basis to data center build and construction related emergencies.
- Conduct weekly meetings with direct reports to provide feedback and assist in addressing concerns and removing roadblocks.
- Help develop and guide career path plans for direct reports.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years professional experience in data center design, construction, operations, and maintenance, with minimum 5 years of people management experience.
- Proven technical depth needed to run this unique space in addition to a strong background of organizational management and leadership.
- Strong leadership skills, and experience in leading teams and projects.
- Experience building trusted relationships with immediate team, external stakeholders and vendors to influence decisions for the benefit of the business.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Architecture, or related subject area, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree is beneficial.
- Experience in engineering within the data center environment.
- Extensive knowledge of data center power and cooling technologies including associated industry standards such as Uptime Institute.
- Cross-discipline knowledge of complete critical facility systems and design & construction cross-discipline knowledge of pre-construction services.
- Strong fundamental knowledge of data center IT technology, including networks, compute, storage and mainframe.
- Extensive experience in industry cabling standards (e.g. BICSII, RCDD etc.) to drive cabling design.
- Knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards including International Building Code.
- Communications skills.
- Knowledge with AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and PowerPoint software.

California Pay Range: from $156,700 to $313,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

New York City Pay Range: from $148,000 to $297,900 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Washington Pay Range: from $165,400 to $297,900 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
