Substitute Teacher

Job Title:               Substitute Teacher

Department:          School

Reports To:           Principal

SUMMARY:  Individual who assumes teaching and supervisory activities during a regular teacher’s absence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintain as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned.
2. Teach the lessons outlined as prepared by the absent teacher.
3. Consult with the Principal before initiating any teaching not outlined in the lessons of the absent teacher.
4. Complete the school substitute teaching report at the end of each substitute teaching assignment.
5. Return all keys or other materials at the end of each substitute teaching assignment.
6. Assume any supervisory duties that have been assigned to the regular teacher during the regular teacher’s absence.
7. Follow district policies and procedures, including those in the substitute handbook, as adopted by the Governing Board.
8. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Have a current Arizona Teaching or Substitute Teaching Certificate

SCOPE AND SALARY:    

Temporary position based on the district substitute teacher salary schedule.

EVALUATION:             

To be conducted by the Principal

Salary : $60 - $120
