The Senior Principal Product Manager role within the Oracle Database group performs a vital function by defining product requirements for Application development-centric functionality, working closely with Engineering to build product roadmaps and prioritization, setting product messaging, and ensuring that our offerings delight customers and differentiate from competitors.

This Role Performs a Number Of Different Functions
- Defines highly differentiated capabilities and use cases that will be used by some of the largest, most demanding Enterprises in the world.
- Works closely with Engineering teams to establish the stated direction of features and ensure the integration of new features into existing or new offerings.
- Acts as the primary source of business and technical enablement, ensuring that technical collateral is generated that enables future solution implementations.
- Deep technical background in database technologies and the SQL language.
- Foundational understanding of application development methodologies, design patterns and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written. This also extends to communicating with both technical and business audiences with equal skill.
- Business acumen in the context of understanding business pressures that customers face in making technical decisions, and the impact of product decisions on Oracle technologies.
- Ability to create a strategic vision, using the Minimum-Viable-Product as a starting point, regarding the ultimate direction of the product under the PM's management.
Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in SQL and database technologies.
- 5 years of experience in data analysis.
- Background in software development.
- Solid understanding of database architectures.
- Solid understanding of application design patterns.
- Demonstrated ability in writing as indicated by publications of blogs, tutorials, or messaging material.
- Demonstrated skill in competitive analysis.
- 5 years of experience in the PL/SQL language.
- Understanding of cloud-native development paradigms.
- Oracle Database Certification.
