**Job Title:** Marine Construction Superintendent
**Position Summary:**
We are seeking an experienced Marine Construction Superintendent with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in marine construction. This role is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of marine-based construction projects, including pile driving, seawalls, bulkheads, marinas, boat ramps, and both residential and commercial docks. The Superintendent will lead field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Supervise and coordinate daily operations of marine construction projects
* Lead and manage both barge-based marine crews and carpentry crews
* Oversee construction activities involving pile driving, seawalls, bulkheads, docks, marinas, and boat ramps
* Direct operations from barges using cranes and heavy equipment
* Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company standards and safety regulations
* Provide field instruction and training in construction methods, rigging, and safety practices
* Plan, organize, and manage project schedules, manpower, equipment, and materials
* Develop and execute short-term and long-term project logistics and timelines
* Maintain accurate project logs, reports, and documentation
* Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients
* Ensure proper maintenance and operation of company vehicles and construction equipment
* Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular safety meetings
**Qualifications:**
* Minimum of 10 years of marine construction experience
* Proven expertise in pile driving, seawalls, bulkheads, marina construction, and dock building
* Strong experience working from barges with cranes and heavy equipment
* Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing multiple crews
* In-depth knowledge of rigging practices and marine construction safety standards
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications
* Strong organizational, scheduling, and logistical planning skills
* Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate company vehicles
* Ability to operate construction equipment safely and efficiently
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
* Willingness to work in varying weather and marine conditions
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* OSHA certification or equivalent safety training
* CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
* Experience with GPS and marine navigation systems
**Work Environment:**
* Outdoor marine construction environment
* Frequent work on barges, over water, and in physically demanding conditions
