Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional serving the Brooklyn area! In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to a young woman with developmental disabilities. This is a paid position committed to supporting your growth and making a meaningful difference. Work schedule Monday-Saturday 3p-8p.
Duties
- Help person prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines
- Implement individualized care plans
- Engage person in social activities and community outings to promote mental stimulation and socialization
- Document all care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA standards and organizational policies
- Collaborate with team members, family members, and Broker to deliver comprehensive support
Requirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with people with disabilities or developmental challenges including autism spectrum disorders
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in social work or nursing-related fields is beneficial
