Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Maintenance Technician role based in Cicero, NY. The Maintenance Technician will perform routine and emergency maintenance tasks, including inspecting and repairing building systems, apartment homes, and common areas. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing issues, completing work orders, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring that equipment and facilities operate safely and efficiently. The role involves responding to resident maintenance requests, coordinating with property management, and maintaining accurate records of work performed and materials used. The Maintenance Technician will also assist with unit turnovers, seasonal maintenance tasks, and compliance with safety and building regulations.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Maintenance & Repair and Equipment Maintenance for residential or similar facilities.
- Experience with Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and basic plumbing issues.
- Ability to perform Preventive Maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment and asset life.
- Background in Industrial Maintenance or similar technical environments is beneficial.
- Knowledge of building systems, hand and power tools, and safety practices (OSHA awareness preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or a related trade is a plus.
- Ability to lift and carry materials, work on ladders, and perform physically active tasks for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed for emergencies.
