Job Purpose |

The Facility Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of station facilities to ensure operational continuity. This role focuses exclusively on building and facility infrastructure – such as plumbing, electrical fixtures, and HVAC components – and requires a high degree of responsiveness to minimize operational downtime.
Please note: this role does not perform work on testing equipment and is solely dedicated to facility equipment. |
Duties & Responsibilities |

Perform repairs and maintenance on station equipment, including: o Overhead intake station displacement AC blowers o Compressor motors o Electrical controllers o Sprinkler systems o Water heaters o Refrigerators o Sinks and toilets - Repair broken or inoperable facility devices utilizing drywalling, plumbing, locksmith, and carpentry skills. - Troubleshoot equipment in a timely manner to keep stations and offices operable, minimizing downtime for internal or external customers. - Ensure preventative maintenance for all designated devices is completed in its entirety and on schedule, based on factory-recommended and Federal Register requirements. - Perform oil changes for station air compressors. Change filters for HVAC systems and overhead blowers, though this is restricted to filter replacement only and does not include fixing the HVAC or overhead blowers themselves. - Provide telephone consultation to Inspection Facility Managers regarding major or safety-related issues. Complete all necessary paperwork, report on assigned work, and assist in the completion of records and other test documents. - Maintain inventory and requisition supplies as needed. - Other duties as assigned by management team. |
Education & Work Experience |

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent. - 2-3 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of commercial facilities. - Possession of a current Driver’s License and a clean driving record. |

- Demonstrated expertise in facility trades, including drywall repair, plumbing, locksmithing, and carpentry. - Ability to perform maintenance on electrical controllers, compressor motors, and various mechanical systems such as blowers and pumps. - Strong analytical skills required to troubleshoot equipment issues in a timely manner to minimize facility downtime. - Capable of maintaining accurate inventory, requisitions, and completing detailed service records, reports, and other test documents. - Ability to provide clear, effective telephone consultation to Inspection Facility Managers regarding major or safety-related issues. |
