The Eighth Cocktail Bar, a new Opus Hospitality concept in Chelsea, is seeking an entry-level Bar Program Manager with exceptional creative vision and technical expertise. This role leads our bar program while working closely with management and acting as a creative partner to our Executive Chef.
The ideal candidate moves fluidly between precision and imagination, collaborating with our Head Chef to create true cocktail-food synergy. If you’ve ever envisioned a cocktail as a terrarium, memory, story, or experiment, this is the place to bring it to life. Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years as a beverage manager or head mixologist
- Minimum of 8 years as a bartender in reputable, high-volume establishments
- Proficient in culinary aspects of bar prep and Bar Science/Molecular Mixology
- Comfortable with high-volume services while maintaining quality
- Thorough knowledge of bar and prep equipment
- Enjoys mentoring and teaching all levels of bar staff
- Solution-oriented in beverage and general bar operations
- Open availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Able to lift items up to 50 pounds
- Holds DOH Food Safety Manager and TIPS certifications
Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee daily bar operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Manage inventory, ordering, and par levels
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper storage of all beverages and supplies
- Create innovative cocktails and seasonal specials
- Refine and update drink menus
- Train staff thoroughly on new drinks and bar techniques
- Maintain high standards of guest experience and professionalism
- Resolve guest issues promptly and thoughtfully
- Monitor drink execution and service quality
- Cash handling and drawer management
- Serve as liaison between bar staff and management
- Track performance and contribute to financial goals
