What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Case Manager position at Optum?
The Behavioral Health department is seeking a Case Manager to join their team full time in Everett.

Our Behavioral Health Case Manager position functions as an integral member of the healthcare team by coordinating care for therapy and psychiatry patients.
Our Case Manager’s main responsibilities include:
- Performs clinical triage for level of care needed and painter/provider matching for Psychiatry.
- Role will include triage, crisis calls, and general care management tasks
- Works as bridge between medical providers and behavioral health providers to implement treatment plans.
- Works with patients to optimize adherence to their treatment plan.
- Triage use of emergency slots for psychiatry prescribers.
- Recognizes when a caller/patient is in need of crisis intervention.
Preferred Experience and Credentials:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field of study; Master’s degree in a mental health related field of study preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience with Master’s degree and three (3) years’ experience with Bachelor’s degree as a Case Manager or related position; mental health, crisis intervention, and call center experience preferred.
- Certificate/License: Associate level licensure with Washington State for counseling preferred.
- If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response ( i.e. entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking order.
Schedule: 40 hours a week – Monday through Friday, from 8am until 5pm.
