About the Role:
The Biomedical Intern will work closely with the Biomedical Engineering team to support product development, testing, customer support, and field activities related to medical imaging solutions. This role offers hands-on exposure to product lifecycle management, customer interactions, and real-world medical device operations while learning industry standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Improvement & Innovation Support
- Assist in identifying product issues through field data, service reports, and customer feedback
- Support feasibility analysis and documentation for product enhancements
- Help in value engineering initiatives and feature evaluation under guidance
Customer Support & Ticket Handling
- Assist in analyzing Level 1/2 customer support tickets
- Support root-cause analysis and documentation of recurring technical issues
- Maintain issue logs and help prepare solution summaries
Product Testing & Validation
- Support execution of test plans for hardware and software updates
- Assist in functional, performance, and safety testing of imaging systems
- Document test results and report deviations to senior engineers
Product Assembly & Manufacturing Support
- Assist in monitoring assembly processes and quality checks
- Support troubleshooting of basic production and assembly issues
- Help document assembly SOPs and process improvements
Customer & Sales Team Collaboration
- Support pre-sales technical activities such as data preparation and demo logistics
- Assist in compiling technical inputs for sales and customer discussions
- Accompany engineers on field visits to observe customer interactions
Qualifications:
- Recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering
- Basic understanding of medical devices, imaging systems, or healthcare technology
- Strong interest in product engineering, customer-facing roles, and medical imaging
- Good analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
Skills & Competencies:
- Basic knowledge of hardware/software testing concepts
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Willingness to learn and work in cross-functional teams
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to travel occasionally for installations or customer visits
Eligibility:
Candidates must be local to bay area, have valid work authorization in the U.S. This is a full-time, on-site position in San Jose, CA requiring 5 days a week in the office.
Salary: Maximum budget for this role is upto 75k
