Job Title: Procurement Lead
Location: Southborough, MA
ROLE SUMMARY
This is a hybrid role covering all aspects of operational and strategic purchasing with respective suppliers from placing PO’s, managing supply, change management, to strategic sourcing, supplier management, and development.
This is a global role and therefore the Procurement Lead must be comfortable and capable of working in a global organisation with an international supply base where many stakeholders they are engaging with are remote from their local site / time zone.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Selection
o Define and implement strategies for sourcing reliable, flexible, and cost-effective supply chains including optimal supply base, technical specifications, and quality parameters utilising sourcing best practice.
· Cost Reduction
o Work collaboratively with colleagues and suppliers to identify and drive implementation of cost down initiatives to deliver in line with budget expectations without compromising the integrity of product and / or supply chain.
· Supply Chain Set Up
o Establish supply chain set ups to ensure maximum flexibility and replenishment efficiency to ensure inventory optimisation.
o Negotiation and implementation of appropriate Contracts / T’s & C’s.
o Lead NPI activities for managed categories.
· Supplier Management & Development
o Lead QBR’s and regular development meetings with key suppliers with view to identifying and addressing key risks, issues and performance improvement opportunities.
· Inventory Optimization
o Manage global inventory to target stock levels at all times and ensure that PO’s and shipping schedules are managed effectively.
o Share capacity forecast requirements with key suppliers on monthly basis and obtains positive confirmation that the supplier has the capability to meet the full requirements.
o Ensure that the MRB / RTV process is effectively managed with suppliers and ‘bad inventory’ is managed within targets.
· Process
o Maintain static data integrity in the system for appropriate parts.
o Ensure agreed processes are understood and adhered to at all times.
o Support as necessary the NPI process and ECO management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Degree required preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Science, or Engineering.
· 7-10 years relevant strategic sourcing and supply chain experience in a medium/high volume manufacturing environment ideally with medical device industry although this is not essential.
· Ability to successfully communicate and engage within global organization and work cross functionally with stakeholders in multiple locations / time zones.
· Proven ability and significant commercial awareness of supplier relationship management.
· Strong interpersonal skills with an influential approach to authority. Previous experience working with highly educated scientific personnel desired.
· Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills as well as an ability to think and plan strategically.
· Target-oriented individual, experienced in ensuring delivery of agreed targets. Project Management skillset desired.
· Excellent presentation skills; consultative, sophisticated approach/style.
· Strong team player with flexible attitude to work priorities, who is willing to take ownership of problems.
· Advanced Microsoft Office experience desired: especially Exel, Powerpoint, and Word.
· Willingness to travel.
