Optomi, in partnership with a leading client, is seeking a Data Center Engineer to support data center connectivity, cabling, racking, patching, and basic troubleshooting. This role will work closely with network architects and engineers to execute tasks within a Nutanix and Arista switching environment.
Qualifications:
- 3–4 years of hands-on data center experience
- Strong understanding of data center connectivity and cabling
- Knowledge of fiber types, copper cabling, SFP types, and fiber breakout configurations
- Experience with racking, patching, and basic connectivity troubleshooting
- Familiarity with data center hardware and networking equipment
- Nutanix, Cisco UCS, or Arista experience is a plus
- Ability to follow technical direction from architects and engineers
- Flexibility to support scheduled maintenance and change windows, including occasional weekends
- Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule
Responsibilities:
- Perform rack installation, equipment patching, and data center connectivity tasks
- Install and manage fiber and copper cabling to support network connectivity
- Support fiber breakout configurations, including 100G to 40G or 25G connections
- Perform basic troubleshooting of cabling and connectivity issues
- Execute tasks under the direction of network architects and engineers
- Support data center maintenance activities and scheduled change windows
