We're Hiring: Ophthalmic Technician (Thursdays starting in June but increasing to Thurs/Fri/Sat in the fall). THIS IS NOT A SEASONAL POSITION

Position: Ophthalmic Technician
Location: East Lyme, CT (Main Location but also willing to travel to Brookfield/Branford CT when coverage is needed)
Schedule: Thurs (starting in June) but increasing to Thurs/Friday/Sat (9 AM – 6 PM)

Prior experience in an optometry or ophthalmology practice is a plus, but we’re happy to train if you have the right and positive attitude!
Someone who can help optimize patient flow and ensure a smooth and efficient clinic experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist in patient intake and record vital signs while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Conduct preliminary tests and examinations, utilizing knowledge of ophthalmology and medical terminology.
- Maintain accurate medical records using EMR systems and collaborate with the clinic team to enhance patient care.
- Educate patients on procedures and post-care instructions, ensuring a comfortable experience in the clinic.
- Uphold aseptic techniques and assist in the preparation of examination rooms.
Requirements:
Minimum: High school diploma (or equivalent) and Undergraduate Education.
Preferred: Certified Ophthalmic Technician Certification (COT), or similar certification.
Prior experience in an optometry or ophthalmology setting is preferred, but not required—training will be provided!
Comfortable with ophthalmic equipment and assisting with telemedicine procedures.

Hourly Pay: $17-$18 per hour, based on experience.
