What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Captain position at Opto Restaurant?
OPTO is seeking a polished, hospitality-driven Service Captain to join our front-of-house team.
This position is ideal for an experienced fine dining server or aspiring sommelier who is passionate about wine, thrives in a guest-focused environment, and is looking to take on a leadership role within the dining room.
As a Service Captain, you will lead service on the floor while supporting the overall flow of the restaurant. In addition to delivering exceptional table-side hospitality, you'll be expected to confidently recommend and sell wine, assist with beverage service, and support the host stand during service to ensure a seamless guest experience from arrival through departure.
This is a TIPPED / HOURLY position.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 2 years of fine dining serving experience
- Strong foundation in wine knowledge with a passion for continued education
- Confidence selling premium wines and pairing them with cuisine
- Warm, polished, and professional demeanor
- Ability to lead by example and support fellow team members
- Experience with reservation platforms such as Resy is a plus
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
