Leading technology company celebrating its 25th year anniversary based in Jacksonville, FL is looking for a strong candidate to lead a two member team for procurement, purchasing, inventory, and pricing. Optiview supports a customer base both nationally and globally with our products and turn-key solutions. Our vendor relationships are both domestic and international. Operating a 25,000sqft facility to support our brick and mortar and online distribution, for multiple verticals in the surveillance, solar, networking, and technology industries. Optiview is looking for a strategic person with great communication and negotiation skills that will help drive our technology and buying decisions working with our director of sales and technology department.
Job Description
Your responsibilities would include maintaining and managing vendor and factory relationships to enable strong strategic product purchasing. Aggressively negotiate with our vendors to continue Optiview’s quality products at competitive prices. Manage and implement product and assembly databases in accounting software (QuickBooks). Investigate and implement effective strategies to improve cost, reliability, and cash through industry standard procurement processes. Regular review, analysis and presentation of inventory forecasting for strategic product procurement. Analyze current spend and markets in an effort to identify sourcing opportunities and effectively communicate plans to management by reviewing current sales data, new products, and identify market trends. Works closely with the Accounting and Shipping departments to assist with book to physical inventory, to inform purchasing decisions, and execute daily purchasing activities. Review and execute purchasing and procurement decisions, orders, and vendor contracts with management.
Qualifications:
- Microsoft Excel: 3 years (Required)
- Purchasing: 5 years (Required)
- Quickbooks knowledge: 3 years (Preferred)
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining and managing vendor and factory relationships to enable strong strategic product purchasing.
- Aggressively negotiate with our vendors to continue Optiview’s quality products at competitive prices.
- Manage and implement product and assembly databases in accounting software (QuickBooks). Including but not limited to, the following areas: Purchasing products domestically and abroad, Inventory Management, create/delete/update Items in accounting system.
- Investigate and implement effective strategies to improve cost, reliability, and cash through industry standard procurement processes.
- Regular review, analysis and presentation of inventory forecasting for strategic product procurement.
- Analyze current spend and markets in an effort to identify sourcing opportunities and effectively communicate plans to management by reviewing current sales data, new products, and identify market trends.
- Works closely with the Accounting and Shipping departments to assist with book to physical inventory.
- Review and execute purchasing and procurement decisions, orders, and vendor contracts with management.
- Works closely with second team member on pricing.
- Manage vendor claims, returns, backorders, price increases and assist with AP processes.
- Actively engages with our product offering to understand our equipment and market capabilities to be a resource for Account Managers for product use and application.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years’ purchasing experience in a wholesale or distribution environment.
- Strong Excel/Sheets skills. Capable to sort and filter large data sets, create graphs and perform calculations in Quickbooks and export to Excel/Sheets for further reporting/analysis.
- Strong communicator. Comfortable progressively relying on in person / face to face interaction as the primary form of communication. Comfortable communicating with multiple tiers of management effectively with the ability to tailor the message to the audience.
- Experienced in, and comfortable with, handling conflict, negotiations or difficult discussions with vendors, factories, and internal teams while keeping the overall end results that are desirable for the Company in focus.
- Ability to work in a team environment and to lead and guide team members.
- Ability and willingness to meet concrete deadlines to ensure operational needs are met.
- Strong familiarity with Quickbooks accounting software a plus.
- Management skills.
- Fine attention to detail, organization, and accountability; strong time management and ability to multitask.
- Basic knowledge of accounting, transportation and computer systems.
Employment Conditions:
Estimated 45 to 50 hours per week. Employee works under typical office conditions, and the noise level is usually quiet.
Salary:
$ 45,760 to $54,080 per annum depending on experience.
