Medical/Behavioral Health practice specializing in the care of injured workers is seeking an experienced scheduler/referral coordinator. The ideal applicant is able to multi-task, keep in-depth notes, and complete tasks in a timely manner. Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and professional.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients
- Register and schedule patients
- Answer phone calls and provide excellent customer service to patients and medical professionals in-person, on-line, and over the phone
- Assist with medical administrative tasks such as faxing, scanning, and uploading documents
- Coordinate referrals and obtain necessary authorizations for patient care
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the office environment
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations
Qualifications:
- 2 years medical office experience
- Proficient in medical administrative support tasks such as scheduling, authorizations, and patient service
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
- Proficiency in the use of office equipment, including phone/fax/copier and computer software (e.g., AdvancedMD, Microsoft Office, Adobe, Teams, Google Docs, Zoom, etc.)
- Familiar with L&I and workers comp paperwork and claim process
- Experience with authorizations through Comagine, Availity, Carelon, etc.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks
